Dougald P. Thompson, age 89, late of 408 W. Pearl, Staunton, IL, passed away at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gillespie, IL, Saturday, September 16, 2000, at 9:13 p.m., born October 22, 1910, in Manitoba, CN, husband of Florence Louise, nee LaBuhn, Thompson of Staunton, IL, whom he married on January 25, 1936, in Chicago; father of Ronald Thompson of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Mt. Olive, IL, Susan (David) Ziglar of Staunton, IL, Evelyn (Carl) Rendel of Orland Park, IL, and Sandra (Charles) Lane of Staunton, IL; grandfather of Jeffrey and Todd Ziglar, Phyllis Caldieraro, Tracy Marsh, Lynee Rendel, Peter and Andrew Thompson, Natalie Moore, Charlene Lane and Sarah Cauley; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; son of the late Donald and Margaret, nee McLean, Thompson; preceded in death by greatgrandson Daniel Ziglar; brothers John, Malcolm, Donald, William, Hector and Lachlan Thompson and sisters Margaret McNabb, Christena Dickie and Myrtle Hymers. Credit Manager of Illinois Telephone and Telegraph where he worked for 40 years. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Remains were donated to Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL. Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
