  Notater	Leo Kaliszewski Mr. Leo T. Kaliszewski, 86, of Powers, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2002 in Pinecrest Medical Care Facility of Powers. He was born on June 28, 1915 in Ubly to the late Theodore "Ted" and Felicia (Nowak) Kaliszewski. He married Eleanor LaBuhn on Nov. 21, 1936 at Holy Name Catholic Church of Detroit. She preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 1964 in Marquette. Leo was a graduate of the Sparling Country School. He farmed in the Ubly area until 1948 when he worked road construction in Huron County. He owned Leo's Bar in Lewisville from 1950 to 1955. He then moved to the Upper Peninsula and owned Seney Tavern from 1959-1967. He worked as a millwright for Munising Forest Products for years before starting the Tri-County Sanitary Works. He was a former parishioner of St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. He had lived in Christmas, and recently lived with his son in Rapid River and Powers. Leo is survived by one son; Arthur Kaliszewski and his wife, Patricia, of Rapid River; one daughter, Carol Santille of Chesterfield Township; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Hughes of Florida; two brothers, Chris Kaliszewski and his wife, Ruth, of Ubly; Mark Kaliszewski of Port Austin. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Joann Modad; one son, Leo Jr.; one sister, Marie "Mamie" Smielewski. Funeral mass for Leo Kaliszewski will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2002 at St. John Catholic Church of Ubly. Rev. Kevin Maksym, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. There will be a parish Vigil service on 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
